We are in the process of trying to find people defrauded by Daniel Jay Skinner of Environmental Mold Inspections (EMI). We are aware of several cases in which Mr. Skinner has taken money from people and either never returned to complete the job, or provided them false report information.
If you have been ripped of by Dan Skinner and EMI Mold, we will soon be providing you with a contact information so that Mr. Skinner and his criminal activity can be brought to justice.
In the mean time, if you were cheated by Mr. Skinner, we would highly recommend reporting your incident, no matter how old, to your state's contractor's license board, as well as your state's attorney general.
Mr. Skinner has done the majority of his mold inspections in the Los Angeles, California area, as well as Ventura County. He is also believed to be operating in the Las Vegas area.
Mr. Skinner currently has several lawsuits filed against him is Los Angeles County (case numbers 06V00405, 06S00320, 06V02997, 07V00932, and 07S00855). More may have been added since we last checked. There are currently 2 small claims cases outstanding in Ventura County. In addition, Mr. Skinner appears to be in arrears with his child support, and has several domestic violence related protection orders against him.
The problem seems to be the Mr. Skinner continually ducks subpoenas, changes business names, and changes his website. Mr. Skinner's known DBA's are NSpect (website NSpectMold.com), Chek Labs, Asses Labs (yes, that's a correct spelling and ironically accurate), EMI, Environmental Mold Inspections, and NEMS Valet Parking Services.

If you search the BBB of Southern California, you will find that Mr. Skinner and EMI Mold have an F Rating, as Mr. Skinner has moved and refused to respond to complaints.
